30 Minute Meal
Should be a complete meal prepared within 30 mins. Can use things that are pre-soaked, pre-fermented like Channa, Dosa/Idli batter etc. Rest of it is not accepted. Even Rice soaking has to be within the 30 mins. And you can't showcase only Dosa/Idli on all days. It has to be different course or meal.
By complete meal, you can make one pot meals, Breakfast items that comprises a main dish and a side dish for examples like Upma and chutney. Dosa and chutney roti and subji etc. However all three days need to be different.
Cooking with Greens
You are welcome to select any one of the three combo and make three different dishes as I have specified. For example if you select combo 1, then you will have to make a bread with greens, a rice and a gravy. You can't make one dish from Combo 1 and one from Combo 2.
Combo 1
Indian Bread
Rice
Gravy
Combo 2
Stuffed in and cooked
As a Spread (on any dish and served or cooked)
Blended (Mixed in the flour and cooked or baked, made a smoothie etc)
Combo 3
As the main Ingredient (like Palak Paneer)
Mixed with a tuber (Tuber vegetables, like the yam, the manioc, the sweet potato, the potato and the Jerusalem artichoke can be used)
Deep fried/Steamed
Recipes using Chai and Coffee
Recipes using Tea or coffee, but not just variations of flavored coffee or chai. It should be coffee or chai used as flavorings in cooking savory dishes or desserts. You can use both instant and other varieties.
Calcium Rich Food
As it says, dish out calcium rich food, focusing on the main ingredient. The dish should showcase the calcium rich food as the main ingredient. It can't be just a teaspoon or something like that.
You can refer the net for more details on what are the top calcium rich foods.
Cooking from BM Blogs
When I thought of this theme, I was so happy that I finally could cook from my friends and enjoy the virtual treats they give us.
So select a BM member, cook all three dishes from their space and enjoy! You can select one of the regular members, else you can select the theme and select the blogger later as well.
You can select different themes or from same theme but it should be from this edition and from the blog you select.
Gourmet Gravies
As the name suggests, the gravies have to be rich, and creamy. Can be from any cuisine, served with either Indian Bread or Rice. Can't be your regular subjis that you make everyday. By gourment and rich I refer to those gravies made with
any of the pastes like almond, cashew, poppy, fried onions, or other ingredients that are used for giving creamy thick and rich texture.
