Capsicum Rice | Bell Pepper Rice

>>  Tuesday, November 12, 2013

Can't believe we are on the third day already! Days surely fly and when it is BM days, its even more so. When I had taken Cooking with Capsicum, I knew I had to do one with a rice. Naturally as one might say, you can take the person off rice, but not rice off a person. I know it's totally not related, but who cares as long as the adage gets the meaning across!

Coming to the rice dish, this is again from my collection of capsicum dishes. The recipe sounded very different. I don't as a policy, mix spices that belong to the garam masala with the other lentils or spices that normally forms the south indian spice blend. In this recipe, however there was a happy union of these and supposed to have been very good. So I just took trust from the source and went ahead making it. Needless to say, the dish was amazing! If you have the spice powder on hand, making this is so simple. Infact I would say making the spice powder to be quite simple infact.
Somehow the final picture was not to my liking. Being so focused on the main food, I fail to notice that raitha got merged with the bowl. By the time I realized it was too late. Since the rice is pretty simple I should plan to make it again and replace.

Between I had the most entertaining discussion with Peddu. Chinnu was busy making a birthday card for his sister's friend, whose birthday it was today. It was a case of post birthday blues. Anyway Peddu was keeping me busy with his talks. He started with saying, "Amma can I tell you something? I said he can mostly certainly. He said after growing up he wants to become the best cooker like me. He asked if that's what he will be called. I corrected him saying its either cook or chef. I then asked him what happened to his wish to become a police officer. He said that he will for sure become. Infact he will build his own police station and by doing more work, he will become CM.

Suddenly he remembered Jawarhalal Nehru, on whom I had to teach them 3 -4 lines to talk about. It was just the previous day that I did and almost for the entire hour or so and the next morning, he was repeating those lines. Chinnu wasn't so obsessed like Peddu and so didn't bother much. Later I got to know from their teacher that they both spoke quite well.

Now coming back to our conversation, he then said Nehru was he best PM, as he had a big house, with lots of books. So he studied more and became very good and that made him a good PM. Well if only what he said, really applied in our actual political scenario.
