Blogging Marathon # 32 - A- Z Cooking

>>  Wednesday, July 31, 2013

When we did a full month marathon during April, it was unanimously agreed that we must have another full month marathon. Apparently my BM Buddies, just like me, are bent on making life tough by taking up challenges that makes one run a mile. Anyways here we are taking up another full month challenge.
So it was decided we should do a different theme during this month long edition. Finally everybody agreed that A- Z cooking sounded good. And on top of it, they even wanted to have specific themes within this theme. Yes I agree we are group crazy group. Well we won't mind your appreciation on our thinking though..:)

Before I go to the details of the themes and the month long marathon, let me brief about the regular stuff, for those of you who are landing here for the first time, please check out these posts on Blogging Marathon, you can read about all the history, the thought process that's gone in everything in one place in the BM#18 intro

For details on BM held every month, check out the Blogging Marathon page. Once I get all details I will be updating this page. Bloggers taking part in this marathon need to just link back to this page.

Just as the usual Marathon, this edition will also be by Sign ups.

And because of the new rules I will not be able to accept late sign ups as it will become extremely hard for me to manage otherwise. If you feel you want to do it, please decide ahead, else you can join us for the later editions.

Commenting on the week blogger's post  all the participating blogger's post is mandatory.
And subscription to the group will be monthly basis.

If you want to know how the Blogging Marathon started, read the first edition

Please email me at latest by 10th August on your interest to join us for the month long Marathon.

FYI:  Requests to join after 10th August will not be accepted.

Mandatory rules for this Blogging Marathon are as below:
  • Should link to the Blogging Marathon page.
  • Is expected to actively give feedback on others post.
  • Mandatory reading and commenting on fellow participating member.
  • Should follow the same themes as I am going to list below .
Themes for BM # 32 will be the following:

Regional Food,
Baked Dishes,
International Flavors / Fusion flavors,
Street Food / Condiments / Misc / Recipe less Posts on Food

We have 26 alphabets, one alphabet for each day. You can do any theme any day or can fix one theme per week.
Three themes will have 6 posts, One theme will have 8 posts and the dates are as below. (One can't do 20 Regional, 2 Baked, 1 Fusion, 1 Mics)

Week 1 - 2nd - 7th Sep
Week 2 - 9th - 14th Sep
Week 3 - 16th - 21st Sep
Week 4 - 23rd - 30th Sep

Excepting 29th Sep, rest of the Sundays are not included.

Regional Food
Since we have majority Indian bloggers, I refer to any of the Indian regional dishes. For non Indian bloggers, they can focus on their region.
So under Regional Food, you can select any cuisine and it can be a mix of different cuisine. Like if one wants to do Dhokla, Idli Sambar, Ada Pradhaman etc.

Baked Dishes
As name says your dish has to be baked. I am not referring to the final baking one might do, with majority cooking being done on stove top, for the final 5 mins bake will not make the dish as baked dish.
So plan for a sweet or a savory that can be completely baked. Yes you can include Microwave dishes as well.
International Flavors / Fusion flavors
For all Indian bloggers, they can select any of the international cuisine and blog. It might as well be fusion because we may not exactly like the cuisine specific flavours. Typical example will be the Indo Chinese dishes, Pizzas etc. Pizzas are Italian origin, though we have Indian version of this.
Only Fusion dishes can be making burritos with Indian spices, Quiche with Indian fillings etc.

Street Food / Condiments / Misc / Recipe less Posts on Food

This is a mix of 4 different themes. Everything is related to Food of course.

Street Food can be any cuisine but considered as a street Food.
Condiment as the same suggests you can post any condiment from any cuisine
Misc posts on Food related stuff, tips etc
Recipe less Posts refer to any pictorials or any educative, how to do without recipes.

Under this you can post any dish that's popular as street food,
dishes that fall under condiments
Just pictorial like making pooris etc (which doesn't really require a recipe)
Misc - this is again a catch, wherein you can post any dish you want, General information about Food ingredient, any useful information about food.

Again under this, with 4 choice, one can't do all 6/8 with the same choice. Always spread your posts. Meaning you can post 2 street food, 2 condiment, 2 misc, 2 recipe less etc...something of this sort.

First 3 Sundays are off, the last Sunday (29th) is included.

Four themes are given and everybody will have to cook under all 4 themes. But the themes can be spread across the days and not fixed to the week.

So 6 posts under 3 themes and 8 for 1 theme. It's left to the blogger to decide which theme they want to do 8 posts.

Please understand the rules and decide to join before sending me an email.

We have a logo created by Preeti, you will have to add this logo to your page with a link back to her space.

I am looking forward to a really packed month ahead!
